Bridget Ziegler, School Board Candidate in Sarasota County, District 1

Bridget Ziegler is one of the founders of the far-right group, Moms for Liberty - a leading nationwide extremist organization in favor of book bans, closely allied with the terrorist Proud Boys. Moms 4 Liberty is partly responsible for a significant increase in hate speech, harassment, and threats of violence at school board meetings in Florida and across the country.

Bridget Ziegler stands with Betsy DeVos in calling for the abolition of the public school systems that equalize opportunity in our nation.

Ziegler is proudly transphobic, engaging in frequent online attacks and sharing transphobic content. She labels any instruction that creates a welcome environment for LGBTQI+ students ‘indoctrination.’ She is a strong supporter of the trio of bills, HBs 7, 1467 and 1557- that enshrine censorship and discrimination into state law. She has joined in the nonsensical crusade against ‘woke’ textbooks, vowing to keep mentions of dangerous content like ‘social justice’ out of instructional materials.

She worked closely with the FL legislature to develop and pass the so called Parental Bill of Rights, which was written to allow anti-science parents to avoid public safety measures during the height of the COVID-19 outbreak.
