Alicia Farrant - Candidate for Orange County School Board Chair

Alicia is a proud member of the extremist Moms 4 Liberty Organization, a group that bans books, promotes censorship, and has close ties to the terrorist Proud Boys. She is a proud MAGA Republican whose political career began in frequent collaboration with Jacob Engels, an InfoWars contributor and Proud Boy who was by Roger Stone’s side at the insurrection on January 6th in Washington, D.C and has since been arrested multiple times.

Farrant won her race to become a school board member for District 3 in 2022, and since taking office she has used her position on the school board to promote book-banning, anti-LGBTQ bigotry, and vaccine skepticism. She was the lone voice of opposition in consecutive years to the school district’s annual proclamation of Pride month. She has appeared on right wing podcasts promoting Islamophobia. She used her close connection to the DeSantis administration to shut down a popular Drag n Donuts event at Boone High School - and then lied about the fact that most parents, in fact, supported the event.

She’s running for School Board Chair making no mention of her history of bigotry and extremism.

Prior to winning her school board race, Farrant led the anti-mask movement within the Orange County Public School system, arguing directly against established scientific guidelines all while selling masks on her Etsy shop. She skirted school board mask requirements during the Delta surge by wearing mesh masks (which do nothing to stop the spread) inside chambers where meetings were held.

She was ejected from a school board meeting in Fall of 2021 for interrupting the meeting and calling the board “Nazis.”
